Sharing a few highlights from our TRAIL classes this week: RESPONSIBILITY

Updated: Aug 19, 2021

Sharing a few highlights from our TRAIL classes this week. Students have all worked hard learning about RESPONSIBILITY! They explored hands on what it means to have an obligation or duty to care about someone or something. Students identified areas of their responsibility at the barn, home, school, in their community, in relationships and for themselves. The students participated in activities with the horses and around the barn to develop and explore responsibility, working together as a team, emotional control, confidence, and our personal duty. The activities with horses helps students recognize their strengths and develop a greater sense of self-awareness and connection.

TRAIL Blazers Youth Empowerment program is a small group mentor horseMANship program focused on empowering children by developing life skills necessary for the TRAIL: Trust, Respect, Adventure, Integrity, and Leadership. This process is about building connected relationships, experiencing, being creative, exploring, problem solving, and discovering practical applications of what they are learning in the moment. Development of life skills such as healthy relationships, confidence, emotional awareness, self-regulation, responsibility, coping and social skills helps children in our program become successful at home, school, and in their communities.

Activities include:

Safety & basic horse care Navigate obstacles & the trail

Ground work Team building & cooperation

Basic riding skills Fun crafts and projects
