The Creator cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon, and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls. ~ Mother Teresa
We hurry, we rush, we fill our time with projects and we try to hold it all together. The chaos of our Western culture often leaves us frazzled and overwhelmed. The daily stress of life can drain our souls.
However, a simple remedy exists with the power to refresh and refuel our spirit! Take a break...allow fifteen minutes to just soak in the saddle - pause to connect with the Spirit and marvel at His creation.
All of nature proclaims beauty and peace where the Great Spirit ~ God ~ our intelligent designer, dwells. Nature awakens our hearts and connects us to the One who restores and makes all things beautiful in His time.
Along the trail drink in creation’s glory. Listen to the sounds of the birds chirping in the distance, the leaves rustling from their branches, the leather gently creaking, and allow your heartbeat to sync to hoofbeats. Breathe deep the sweet smell of honeysuckle and allow the sunrise or sunset to steal your breath away. Sidepass that load of laundry, desk, or email; disconnect from your computer, phone and social media to exhale and remember how God’s glory is everywhere.
These short breaks soaking in the saddle trains our minds and bodies to refresh and refuel in God’s presence.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above declares his handiwork. Psalm 19:1
