Silver Spurs Senior Outreach
Silver Spurs Senior Circle is an outreach program to local assisted living homes within a 30 mile radius of HOPE. Our HOPE family, including volunteers and clients, are encouraged to participate! During our visit participants have the opportunity to visit, play games and introduce residents to our horses. Horse activities include grooming, leading, giving treats, and bonding with our horses. The benefits include increased self-confidence, engagement with their environment, pleasure and physical activity while reducing stress, agitation, and isolation. Having an opportunity to bond with the horses is a very powerful and memorable experience.
911 First Responders Toy Drive
First Responder Organizations Unite for Food and Toy Drive for Local Children and Families
Back the Blue Illinois and Finding Hope Therapeutic Riding Center have organized a food and toy drive to support local organizations helping families in need during the Christmas season. This outreach event will feature local first responders, as well as a variety of emergency vehicles and crew. Those who wish to contribute can drive through the marked entry and get an opportunity to drop off their donations, while viewing the lineup of first responder and military vehicles, as well as a helicopter. Santa plans on making an appearance to show his support for local first responders and to thank donors for helping fill the trucks for families and local organizations who need assistance during the 2020 Holiday season.
